Vertex Inc. is currently looking for a Senior Software Developer who will perform complex product design, systems analysis, and programming activities. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting monthly scheduled, as well as, unplanned emergencies, files of tax data to the Vertex customer base, maintenance and support of internal applications and processes, working closely with various development, testing, and analysis groups to ensure coordinated delivery of software features, and working with internal business partners supporting critical processes and work flows.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Ensure the development of Vertex Products and tools
- Perform design, Unit Test, implementation and maintenance of moderately complex multiple product modules/sub-systems
- Prepare technical design specifications of product subsystems based on functional requirements
- Provide maintenance for Vertex Products and tools
- Design and implementing test procedures
- Test and reviewing functional and design specifications
- Provide estimates for development activities
- Ensure the quality of Vertex Products by performing complex bug verification, release testing and support for assigned products. Researching problems and developing solutions to the problems
- Support a dynamic team environment at Vertex by collaborating with other departments, contributing time, effort and ideas
- Share product & technical experience and aid development of less experienced staff
- Lead or participate in other projects or duties as assigned
We encourage individuals possessing all of the following minimum qualifications to apply immediately:Education & Training:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Experience Required:
- 8+ years of overall software development experience
- 2+ years of C# / .NET development experience
- 2+ years of Oracle PL/SQL experience
- Visual Studio experience
- Analytical and design skills at a multi-product level
Knowledge & Skills:
- Technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design, and implementation
- Experience with research and analysis, project planning and implementation
- Thorough understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
- Understanding of one or more operating systems, platforms and development tools.
